It looks like the CRIMINAL case against Kobe Bryant may be on the brink of collapse.

A civil case would still be likely.

The rare judicial decision to bring her sexual history into this matter might have been the killing blow. Rape victims are usually shielded from such speculation.

Now the Defence is reeling. There is another woman accusing Kobe of similar behavior. Shaq could be made to testify about what happened at his house party:

O'Neal said his former teammate would need a jury of rappers -- "Ludacris, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg" -- to get off

it leaves Bryant and his lawyers with a "Hobson's choice: If he doesn't testify, he loses the ability to tell the jury that it was consensual sex. If he does testify, he opens the door for another accuser to allege nonconsensual sexual activity."

You have to wonder what case Sports Illustrated is actually watching.

Looks like the SI report is a cover story written before the other news of today. In Canada the complainant can't tell the prosecutors to drop the case if the Crown wants to proceed.
