Henry Kissinger, in a five part series in Newsweek, writes about the challenges facing America on foreign policy.

That's a pretty heavy and erudite article. In particular I was interested in his discussion on the developing superpower status of China and its fundamental differences from the USSR. If we're still around in 10 years everyone will be talking about China and not the Middle East, methinks.

It is SO sad that they may amend the constitution to allow 'The Terminator' to become president but that Kissinger was never given the same opportunity. While i don't always agree with him he is certainly brilliant....

He does a great job but is far too careful to say how far the USA has come in meeting the challenges themselves over the past 4 years. He implicitly and explicitly states his support for Bush but at the same time many of his policy's, and the very nuanced intricacies of them, are not only ignored by the current administration but often times opposed. I think the lack of 'statesmanship' by the current administration has as much to do with the problem between the USA and the E.U. as policy...
