They've got PBP on the Fan 960 for those without Shaw. Unless there's conflict with the Flames.

Go Hitmen Go! Good game last night by Spence. Flukeish goal with 3 mins remaining for the Hitmen, but Ill take the win!
I think this would be a popular thread, except I dont think alot of people browse the "Local Hockey" section.
What are the possibilites of moving this into the "Fire on Ice" section for the Playoffs just to generate more traffic and interest?

Hitmen lost tonight 4-2. Had a 2-0 lead after the first. 2-1 after the second. And fell apart in the third. Lots of fights to end the game. Hopefully they will take this series!

Massive win by the Hitmen tonight. They flat out DOMINATED Kootenay in the third period, outshooting them 19-3. The 19th shot finally went in, with 30 seconds left, for a 3-2 win.
Shame they collapsed in the 2nd game, as Calgary has pretty much outplayed Kootenay all three games so far.

In other news, the playoffs are not going as planned for any of the top contenders at this point.
Kamloops was just swept by Prince George, while both Medicine Hat and Everett have turned what should have been easy series wins into dogfights, tied with Red Deer and Spokane respectively 2-2. Only Vancouver is safe, leading Chilliwack 3-1.
In the case of Everett last night, the tying goal was scored after Irving was run right over by a Spokane player, which the officials inexplicably chose to ignore. The Everett PBP guy was going insane.

You mean very few occasions. I don't know I have ever watched Shaw outside of Junior hockey. Back in 94, I was in the BC provincial final for soccer and they had Shaw film the game and they aired it like 4 months later. I can honestly say that was the last time I have watched Shaw when it didnt have anything to do with hockey.

Shaw does a fairly good job at Roughnecks lacrosse as well. In fact, Versus simply picked up the Shaw feed for our game vs. Philly a few weeks ago.

Those were two HUGE wins in the 'Wack for Vancouver. I went to Game 2 on Saturday night (a 3-1 Bruins win) and the Giants played as undisciplined as I've ever seen a team play. PPs were 9-1 Bruins, if they had any kind of a PP going it woulda been 5 or 6-1. That said, Archibald the Bruins goalie has been standing on his head. I could see this as a really good rivalry once Chilliwack establishes itself better a couple years down the road, a la Giants/Silvertips now.

Hitmen lead the Ice 3 games to 1 now.. Kootenay had a 4-1 lead in the second period, but Calgary comes back to win 5-4 in OT, Dansereau with the winner.
I grew up in Cranbrook and was there for the early years of the Ice, but they look done IMO. Hopefully they can at least stretch it out to 6..
Also, to let everyone who's interested know... Shaw is showing Game 5 of the Bruins/Giants series tomorrow night. 7:30 PT start..

Nice comeback by the Hitmen. Another dominating 3rd period by the Hitmen for the second game in a row and their PP got them back in the game. This is in contrast to game 2 where it was the opposite otherwise this could be a sweep.

Anyone know how long Plante is out for? Frere just looked lost tonight and Plante's return would be a big boost.

Plante was described as "week to week" on the game sheet. That would suggest to me that he is done.

His cast has come off and he is now skating . . . they initially had said that he would be unavailable for the first round . . . so it looks like he's on schedule

Did anyone watch the Vancouver/Chilliwack game yesterday? I just happened to catch the very end after Vancouver had won the game, hence winning the series, when the big brawl happened. After some consideration, they decided it wouldn't be safe for the players to go through the traditional handshake and the teams just went back to their dressing rooms. Has this ever happened before?

I was there last night.. There were a couple of sucker-punches that people on TV didn't see, both by Giants players. Then, once the ruckus broke up, the Giants players started hootin and hollerin and motioning for the crowd to make noise.. Don Hay was already on his way off the ice though, so I'm assuming it was up to the coaches to judge as well...
Give Chilliwack a couple of years (they had LOTS of fans there last night) and this rivalry will be something else IMO...
