Oral Sex Causes Throat Cancer
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/6639461.stmA virus contracted through oral sex is the cause of some throat cancers, say US scientists. HPV infection was found to be a much stronger risk factor than tobacco or alcohol use, the Johns Hopkins University study of 300 people found.
The New England Journal of Medicine study said the risk was almost nine times higher for people who reported oral sex with more than six partners. But experts said a larger study was needed to confirm the findings.
I expect a large number of willing test subjects for this one... at least on one side of the equasion....

Oh....so many ways this could go where to start....If someone gets money and adequate test subjects to do a further study on this, I'd have to tip my hat to them.

I don't think they need new test subjects, I'm pretty sure they can do just a short survey. No new sex needed. But seriously... 6 partners increases your risk by 9 times? Uncool.

HPV seems to cause cancer a lot. However, now that an HPV vaccine is available (also being called a cervical cancer vaccine), hopefully this type of throat cancer will be a thing of the past.

I wonder if the number of partners you've had increases your risk past the 9 times... and whether or not the increase is exponential.
