Need a new PVR/DVD recorder
I am moving a short ways out of town and will no longer be able to use my Shaw SD PVR since I will be forced to switch to Star Choice. I looked at their PVR SD tuners and they are far more expensive than I am willing to shell out especially considering this will not be a permanent move, and will be returning to Shaw. Basically I want a generic PVR without a tuner or DVD recorder with a hard drive, so I am seeing if anyone has any good(or bad) experiences with current brands/models out there. The unit should be able to transfer files to computer either directly, or be able to be ripped off DVD after recording.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Btw, Bell is not an option, since my wife works for Shaw, the employee package and perks is of far greater benefit than anything Bell has to offer.
