Default Google Earth's Header is Downtown Calgary!

Hey, I just noticed that the home page animation at Google Earth is a flythrough of Downtown Calgary

(The one on the website is animated). Pretty neat, does anybody know what the city in the second half with the see-through square building is?

Pretty sure that see through square building is in some French town. Can't remember the name, but the idea of the city is to basically be a showcase for architectural advancement.

Interesting that it's paired with downtown Calgary, which while it may be modern, is also very cold and corporate and not particularily beautiful.

I'm in Brussels right now and...oh my god. Traffic is horrible but that's because every single street is taken always with people sitting outside at a cafe or restaurant or bar. The dirtiest corner here is better than anything in Calgary ie: Stephen Avenue or 17th Ave. Also, there are almost no buildings under 4 stories and the streets are all winding and curving with triangular and interesting blocks (versus Calgary which is just a cold, depressing grid)

I haven't seen the image that you are talking about, but it sounds like the Grande Arche in Paris's La Defense business district. You can view this enormous modern arch while on the Champs Elysee through the Arc de Triomphe.
