Wow, I'm sure she will be treated with dignity and respect. Especially in the shower.

I am very surprised and glad to see such a ruling. Finally money cannot buy you out of trouble (granted she's had enough warnings and second, third, fourth chances).

She'll be segregated and I'm sure it won't be too hard on her. Maybe they'll make a show out it.

It sounds excessive until you hear she's violated probation three times leading up to this.
Nice kick in the ass by the judge, probably prompted by Paris Hilton's mother sitting in the first row loudly railing against the prosecution about "15 minutes of fame" and other taunts.
Meanwhile, in Calgary, the husband of a Calgary alderman was sentenced to 14 days in the klink for vote-rigging.

Personally, I think he should have gotten more time in jail than Paris for an infinitely more serious crime.

It's just funny that her and her family still has this sense of entitlement over the proceedings. Somehow her mother thought that there was no way that three probation violations would get her daughter in jail, and that only a judge's wish for "15 minutes of fame" would warrant a guilty verdict.
Paris also made the remark that "Maybe I should read what I sign next time", when she signed the form that declares that she is not to drive under probation. In my opinion, that just says to me that she still thinks that her driving is correct, and that she wouldn't have signed the form if it told her that she couldn't drive.
I'm so glad this has happened. People like her are the scourge of society.

I wonder how Kathy Hilton would feel if her daughter was killed by a person who was driving recklessly with a suspended license because of a DUI charge.
Would she then feel that a 45 day sentence was a ludicrous way to try and change that behaviour before it happened?

Maybe this will smarten Paris up, she seems out of control.
I see in that article the two brothers of conservative MLA for Calgary Montrose, Hung Pham are also facing trial in this case. This is outrageous, that the votes of the people in this riding are maybe not worth the paper they were written on. He should be forced to resign.
