I read that as a right winger sarcastically mocking the thought that daylight saving preserves energy and that golabl warming is real.

but I'm not sure.... seems kind of pointless

Really? I read it as a liberal parodying a conservative point of view on global warming/daylight savings.

oh, daylite savings time is just awful. Now there is an extra hour in the day and the grass will grow more too and we will have to cut our grass more often and all that extra energy used in cutting the grass will just add to global warming. I tell you, this is serious stuff.

I wonder what the paper was thinking when they decided to print it?

We have a winner. They cant possibly have been thinking.

The real cause of global warming is lack of pirates. Pirates were cool.

By the way I didn't make this, it was sent to me in an email, so I am taking zero credit. I just think its hilarious.

All joking aside, there is a report out there that suggests the change to DST has resulted in a significant increase in fuel consumption. It showed that people are driving their cars more in the evenings due to the extra hour of daylight when most people are home from work. I'm afraid I don't have a link.

People need to shut up about gloabl warming.

It's a natural phenomena that occurs in cycles. In a couple thousand years we'll cool down again. Yes, anthropogenic activity may cause it to increase faster, and for whatever reason (ie/ burning fossil fuels too fast), but what can you do about it?

Accept it and deal with the increase in sea level. That is what will be the biggest deal, because millions live in coastal areas.

Anyway, as to the letter, I'm sure the author thinks that she is speaking the truth, the usually do when they write letters. Some people should keep their computers off and their pens locked up.

Yes, we should limit this form of democracy

That was seven years ago, who knows what has happened to the pirate population since then.

Pirates are an endangered species and we need to protect them.

Locke.

This has been talked about ad nauseum in countless threads already. I think we don't need to go down that road again over this obviously fake article.

I am more concerned about the diminishing number of pirates. This is quite alarming.

Sorry to get everyone off track. When I saw the number of pirates were dwindling so low I too was shocked. There must be someone with the dream of being a pirate, the dream that still burns strong in his heart!

It was an actual letter submitted by a lawyer with a biting satirical wit.

According to this video there's one one pirate left in the Province of Saskatchewan

Something must be done to save this shrinking population!

I have a fever, and the only cure for that fever is more pirates.

Good old Arrogant Worms. I wonder what happened to them, they used to be a Canadian staple.

I wonder if Canada's Employment Insurance board would consider making people try being a pirate before they get to collect EI. It would solve like half of the maritime's problems for sure.

Representative #1 of the the Official "Save the Pirates Foundation." Pirates are people too! Their professions deserves respect, and they combat Global Warming.

Locke.

I think its time for a new sig...I think thats going to be it.

The reason pirates are declining is the surplus population of ninjas. Unfortunately ninjas have no natural predators, so I fear the days of the pirate are coming to an end.

Then the ninjas will die out then of course.
