Default Drug Rehab Advice

Does anyone have any experience helping someone get off prescription meds? The culprit is called Aderol. The person that needs the help is willing to go into a program, so I want to get her in there as soon as possible (like, today). I suppose I'm going to start by calling AADAC and see what advice they have. Money is not a big concern. If anyone here has dealt with this directly or indirectly, please tell me anything you deem noteworthy. If you're not wanting to post, feel free to PM.

Thanks in advance.

You don't by any chance mean Adderall rather than Aderol, as I have never heard of the later. If you are refering to Adderall, you have to remember that the rehabilitation is going to be difficult as it is with any schedule II controlled substance, not only from the addiction aspect but also because the issues related to the prescription of the medication in the first place, the ones which were being masked by Adderall are going to reappear...

Phone AADAC though and look through the different publications on substance abuse - there should be some at the university of calgary in the info-commons area if memory serves me correct.

Yeah, it must be adderall. And yes, it will be pretty difficult mentally because she's pretty convinced that the only reason she got her degree was because she went thru uni on that stuff. Some heavy duty couneslling will probably be necessary to get her to believe that it was her that did the work, not the drug.

And I just spoke to AADAC and they offer a program for this kind of thing. I'm just not convinced that they'll handle the white collar drug addict all that well when they've got skid row people with seriously life threatening addictions to tend to first.
In other words, her problem doesn't appear to be a 911 situation, but it really is.
I'm willing to pay for an actual facility. Hopefully it'll be less than 10K or else there might be a bit of a problem.

There was an article in the Calgary Herald a month or so ago dealing with that exact issue, white collar drug addicts. If memory serves me correct there was a center in Vancouver which was very costly but was supposed to work quite well...

I am fairly confident that this is the website - www.orchardrecovery.com

Regarding the use of Adderall it is suprisingly abundent on university campuses just because it acts as an ampetamine increasing ones attention span and ability to stay up late and remain productive in those late hours. Best of luck.
