Buying a truck in the U.S.

Just wondering If anyone has actually gone to the U.S. and picked up a vehicle. My wife works at a dealership and we can get a a truck (GMC) at dealership cost plus $200.

Does it make sense for us to take a loan from the bank, go down and purchase a Truck down there?

one thing to maybe consider is that her employer might not be too happy if you go and buy a vehicle elsewhere. I work at a dealership and i know my boss would be none too happy if an employee did not purchase from him.

we have concidered this and wouldn't do this at all BUT she is looking at a change of scenery

From what I hear, trucks are easier to import than cars and are also more worth it financially. Not from personal experience though.
