I'm not sure how many of you know or loved this screen saver like I did...
It basically used XML with the CBC website to dynamically update the playoff tree and then you could hover over scores or match ups and a headline would show up at the bottom and you could click on it to go to CBC.ca website and the story of that game... It was a great tool... here is some links to past years... I believe they still work if you install them just to give you an idea... but I can't use screen savers at work so I can not test...

Anyway as usual CBC has not put it up on time and so I emailed the developer
This is what he said.

Hi Kelly
Sadly, no. Working with the CBC was always a slow process. They have still not formally told me they can't use it this year but given the date I think it's clear. I think they blew all of their budget on providing all playoff games on the internet this year. The Screensaver uses an XML file to do the updates which will not be maintained this year so it wouldn't work to send you the 2007 version directly. I think they didn't tell me they were not going to use it this year so I wouldn't approach TSN/Sportsnet/other. They also never tell me how popular(downloads) it is but we get millions of hits on the xml so we have some idea.
Sorry, I'm a little let down as well. If anything changes I'll contact you with an update.
Tell everyone to write in to CBC sports to ask for it...I'd like to hear the response you get.
Rob

-I'm looking for your screen saver again - I can't live without it... (not to mention the hundred people asking me - lol)
I tried the link below with a 2007 instead of 2006 but it didn't work...

So I encourage you to tell CBC if you are going to miss this tool or simply wish you'd had the chance to use it...
This is on the CBC website:
