Burninator's head shave for cancer
Today fellow CP poster Burninator has started a drive for cancer. His goal was $1000, in less than half a day he has almost achieved that goal. I think this can hit $10,000 easily, and I'm sure he'd appreciate any support given.
He started a facebook group, Head Shave for cancer , feel free to join.
And here is where you can donate:

My mom did it a couple of years ago... she said she wouldn't do it unless we raised $10,000... we actually got $25,000 so we made her shave her head bald

Hey thanks Jiggy_12!
I thought my goal of $1000 was pretty lofty, but as it turns out people are way more generous than I thought. I started my drive at about 8:30 this morning and already we are $75 away from $1000. The outpouring of support is phenomenal. I say we keep going after we reach $1000. I will post some pictures soon so you can better see the hair that is going to be shaved off in support for the fight against cancer.
Thanks again!

No problem. And believe me people, this guy has a lot of hair. Its going to take one mean razor to get through it all.

Yeah it is getting tough to see. Saying that a haircut was long over due is an understatement.

Cancer is a horrible disease, I've heard it refered to as "our century's plague" and it seems very true.
I believe Cape Breton has one of the, if not the, highest cancer rate in the country. I can't begin to count the family memebers that have had to fight it. It seems every day in the paper half if not 3/4 of the obituaries have "donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society" at the end of them.
I wish I could donate more than I did, but every bit helps.
Good luck, it can be beaten. My grandfather beat it, it took a hell of a lot out of him, but he lived until he was 81 when his kidneys failed him... not the cancer getting him.
Think happy thoughts, and cheerish your time left with your loved one (and by loved one I mean your hair )

Thanks Scout! Honestly, any amount large or small is appreciated. Calling it this centuries plague is very fair. I think everyone knows someone or is that someone in which cancer has effect their life.

Nice work Burninator. I did this last year at the Global Petroleum Show. Lanny McDonald MC'd and it was pretty neat meeting him.
It was an interesting experience for sure. I looked like hell and it took only 30 minutes for stranger to make a 'white power' remark in my direction. To actually go through treatment and face the world makes cancer patients unbelievably strong.
BTW: This thread is useless without before and after pics.

Burninator, good for you man. I'd donate but I'm already involved in a fundraiser and just donated $100 myself the other day. I'm not doing the head shave, though. Heck, I have no hair left to shave anyhow so it wouldn't be much of a feat if I did it. Good luck to you, thanks to anyone who donates to the Canadian Cancer Society and here's to curing this disease forever.

Good job. My 12 year old brother is doing the "relay for life" and he is also shaving his head. So all my money is going to him. Good luck and it's for a great cause.

Update bump
After about a week and a half of collecting updates we have completely smashed my goal of $1000. As of writing this we have collected $7,485! The support has been out standing, I am very grateful. Thanks again to you puckers who donated. And of course you will be still able to donate to the fund. If anyone is interested my curly locks will gone at 4:00pm tomorrow. And of course I will post pictures of the event when it happens.
Thanks again!
