So in a moment of madness, the wife sends me a link to youtube where a little video implores you to put kids in a 5 pt harness as long as possible. The madness is that I can't possibly work now. (as if playoff weren't enough of a distraction)
Turns out the usual booster seats aren't actually foolproof.
Now, I get that there's a massive emotional component to this and that statistically it may be a one in a million risk thats really easily to rationalize. In fact, it's probably an irrational fear given there are so many other ways for kids to get hurt.
For me, i'll happily part with money for yet another car seat to reduce the risk for the kiddies, no matter how small (we're fortunate to be able to afford it). I figure everyone else can decide what's best for them, but at least you know.
