Boy that's a late game collapse by ATL, giving up both the lead and winning goal in the final minute:
10. PANTHERS, NASH 2 (STUART, MURRAY) (PP), 19:09
11. PANTHERS, NASH 3 (MALIK, ZIDLICKY) (PP), 19:52
THRASHERS BLOW LEAD, LOSE FIRST GAME OF PLAYOFFS 6-5
(Atlanta - AP)
The Atlanta Thrashers played with fire and got burned. Leading 5-4 late in the 3rd period, the team took two unsportsmanlike penalties in the last two minutes of the 3rd period and Rick Nash scored 2 last minute 3rd period goals to give the Panthers a 6-5 win and cut the Thrashers lead to 2-1 in the Gretzky Conference Semifinals. Unlike game #2 where the Thrashers were outshot and probably didn't deserve to win, this was the exact opposite. The Thrashers outshot the Thrashers but Marc Denis had an off night.
"It's tough to lose a game and a chance to be up 3-0 in the series in the final minute. Some boneheaded penalties by our team at the end. But we are still up 2-1 and if we win game 4 then that puts us in a great spot in the series. We will be ready in game #4." - Thrashers GM Sutaria
Game 4 goes Monday Night in Atlanta.

Pens win big to take a 3-0 strangle hold in their Gretzky Conference Semi-Final Matchup with the Caps. The Offense could not have been more spread out as 13 different players recorded at least a point in this game. The Pens showed lots of chaarcter as they responded very well to the Caps scoring 27 seconds into the first to take a 3-1 lead into the locker room. From there the Pens just cruised to a the win adding 3 more goals to sail to a 6-1 win. Game 4 is huge as the Pens would love to end this series on home ice and not let the Caps get any momentum in this series at all.
