Do old terrorists go to heaven?
Hopefully he's dead by morning.

Norm!

Hopefully Arafat is off to see Allah.
Its kind of ironic that the guy who recruits terror bombers and people who are willing to die for god by strapping a bomb to thier chest is going to die of natural causes.

A lot of Mid East pundits have long said, "The main thing standing in the way of peace is Arafat and his influence over the Palestinian hierarchy."
Looks like it's time to find out if they knew what they were talking about.

Combine this with the vote in the Knesset yesterday and there might actually be some positive movement in the situation.

The only thing I am upset about is that he isn't going to die from someone running into his room, when his children are around and blowing themselves up. If he dies in his sleep he is getting more than he deserves.

Ya, it's a shame to pass up an opportunity to kill more children

I doubt that Arafat has really had that much control over anything for quite sometime. He is nothing more than a figure head now.

You want him to die in a way that would be viewed by fundamentalists as a martyr?
Why would you want to immortalize him like that?

No doubt.
When Sharon kicks off, I won't be wishing for his grandkids to go with him.

He's still the one "appointing" the Prime Minister.. or should I say begging him to stay in a position where the PM is just a figurehead. The current guy knows this and wanted to step down, only to be begged to say.
Arafat still has all the power.

I was mroe making a point than anything, and you know what I wouldn't lose any sleep if he died one of the worst deaths ever because he deserves it.
Arafat has a huge amount of power still by the way.

Nobody in the PA government has any real power. Arafat may appoint the Prime Minister, but none of them can do anything anyway. They have less money and arms than the gangs and terrorist groups in Palestinian territory. Who builds the schools? Who hands down justice? Not the PA. Between the gangs/terrrorist orgs, and the Israeli occupiers, what does the PA do? The PA is a complete joke as far as controlling the territory goes.

FlamesAddiction, it seems to me as though you are in fact forgetting that Arafat is the leader (or at least I believe he is the leader) of the PLO. He still has power, I don't see any way around that. I am just waiting for someone in our nations capital to build a monument or some crap to him

For the last two years he hasn't been allowed to leave the rubble that he lives in. If he's lucky he had a telephone. Also, he's a decrepit, dying old man. Kinda hard to wield a lot of power in that situation I would think.

Isn't it actually the PA?
And it's a pretty meaningless title at this point. They could give him the title of "god", and it wouldn't mean he had vast amounts of power.

Sharon has killed two to three times the amount of children at least that Arafat has "killed." He was fighting for the freedom of his people the only way he could. While I agree his methods were wrong and horrible it is nothing in comparison to the attrocities he has seen committed against his people during his life.
