Exclamation Center Ice PACKAGE RENEWAL!

Just got my bill from Bell today and noticed that they charged me THIS YEAR also. I did have it last year but they say that unless I CALL and CANCEL they will add it year after year!!! What a crock of SH*t! I went through 3 supervisors and in the end they credited one FREE MONTH!!

If this has happened to you, PM me and I will give you the direct line (number) to the young man/woman who credited my account and hope they can credit yours also!!!

Time to stick it back to BELL and make sure they change their CI package renewall policies!!!

I thought negative option billing was made illegal in Canada.

They sent me a piece in the mail that made it pretty clear that I had to call to have it cancelled, illegal or no. I agree it sucks to have to call in to have the service cancelled, but it's not like they didn't warn you ...

I had the same problem last year. I finally did get it cancelled, but you are absolutely right, it is a real hassle and I wasn't very happy about it.

Oh, and while we are at it, how come Bell charges Quebec PST to their Alberta customers? I have yet to get a straight answer out of Bell on this one.

My mom had this happen last year. Bought my Dad centre ice for his birthday and than he passed away the next summer...Of course with all the stuff associated with that she forgot to cancel and got stuck with Centre Ice last year. She doesn't mind hockey....but she sure doesn't like it that much. I had to remind her to cancel it this year or she would have forgot again.

Don't quote me on this, but, they might be closed. You will end up going through a seemingly endless list of options to finally get to a recorded message that tells you to phone back during their regular business hours.

I ordered it a few years ago, and the guy on the phone was really clear that I had to cancel myself after the season was over if I wanted to cancel it.

Maybe I got a good call centre agent? I dunno. I called and cancelled 2nd or 3rd round of the playoffs to be certain. Turns out we cancelled our subscription altogether after that (my roommate and I moved).

Two questions about this:

- Did they take off Centre Ice?
- Why on earth would you want to cancel that much hockey

Phone your credit card company and tell them the bill from Bell was not authorised by you. Let Bell deal with your credit card company.

Makes sense doesn't it? It automatically renews... just like your cable bill and other utilities. If they tell you that before hand I don't see what the problem is.

I just received a box from them for my old PVR ... I should have given you a call. Can I hire you as my personal spokesperson?

I have a Bell cellphone but I'm not touching anything else made by them. Even though there have been complaints about Shaw the fact that I got CI for $99 leaves me impressed..

Right. Why not charge for every feature that Bell offers and make the customer call to cancel whatever they don't want every year. They do it specifically to cheat customers out of their money and is about as immoral as it can get. It should be illegal.

I don't agree with this, I remembered their little scam and called in to cancel my CI in September, I was on the phone a good thirty minutes too!
Bell shouldn't be doing this, I was getting charged for a few more services that I never even asked for like games and other useless junk.

They made it very clear to me when I joined that it was automatic unless i called. I've had no problems with them.

i dont see the point about complaining. People should just get off the couch and make a phone call to cancel services they don't need. Nothing wrong with automatic renewal.

I will never deal with Bell ever again purely out of spite. I have never dealt with such a ridiculous amount of ineptitude in the same company. Bell = Oilers.

Yep, it sucks. Yep, every time I've subscribed they have made a huge point of reminding me that it is auto re-newal.

How can I help? Ask to speak to a supervisor. Tell them the situation, and ask for a "satisfaction credit" of $100. Supervisors can do that; as long as you haven't had credits recently and ........there's one other thing......... I think your monthly bill has to be over $50 each month; or something like that.

My funny story- my friend gave/sold me his Bell receiver in the summer of 2001. He cancelled, and I picked up the subcription. Took a couple of months to get it sorted out. Flash forward to October, and my buddy and I both get billed for CI. Now that was exercise in futility; trying to explain that we understand it is auto billed, my friend cancelled his supscription, and the only receiver on his account is currently paying for CI.
