Default American Idol "Jihad"

I thought that I should pass this along in case any one votes for this program. Howard Stern is promoting a vote for "Sanjaya" campaign. Apparently this kid is the worst singer of the bunch.

While I don't watch that show, I do think that this is a funny idea.

Better yet, let's vote for Rory Fitzpatrick instead!

Why? He/she (i have no idea who this person is) is probably a decent singer to get to this stage of the show. So where's the punchline here? Is this person funny in some kind of way?

Didn't they already do this with that Chinese fella a few years back?

That kid is most definately the worst singer of the bunch. How he keeps moving on to the next rounds is beyond me.

Probably has something to do with Simon saying he'll quit if Sanjaya wins the show: http://www.google.ca/search?q=cowell...en-US:official

I've not watched this show a whole lot, but he is clearly worse than anyone who's ever made it close to this far. He looks and acts like he realizes he is out of his league and just wants to go home.

votefortheworst.com is pimping him too.

Yeah, this is the general concensus on Stern as well; he is terrible and is just out of his league. For some reason I find it hilarious!

I could care less who wins and leaves the show.

David Foster was on The Hour and he called American/Canadian Idol a soap opera.

That is exactly why I thought that this thread needed starting! The entertainment value is excellent!

Ok I watch this show. A fair bit. Rag on me all you want. Its not because I like it, but my wife LOVES it, and since she puts up with baseball in the summer, I do these types of things (e.g. watch American and Canadian Idol) with her.

Sanjay or whatever his name is is not just bad. He is not just as bad as people say he is on here. How he even got on the show is beyond me. He is ABSOLUTELY HIDEOUS. One of the worst singers I have heard in my life! (not counting someone like me...I am meaning people that must have some sort of "talent", despite however little it is).

That said, the voting thing must be working. Beacuse he has survived the past 2 elimination rounds. Both times it is between him and one other guy. Both times the MUCH BETTER guy has gotten booted off.

Let's put it into perspective how much he sucks. In the elimination round, it would be like Wayne Gretzky (whatever other guy) going up against Dennis Hamel (sanjay). No wait Hamel has some sort of talent (he's done well in the minors I believe). It would be like wayne gretzky going up against one of his brothers, and then having people vote for who is the better hockey player. And one of the brother's wins, not Wayne.

I am not calling any of them the comparable quality to a gretzky type thing at singing, far from it. Instead, it is to show the such insane difference in talent levels. The guy should not even be shining their shoes.

That said, and I am quite sad that I know all this, there are actually 2-3 REAL good girls on there. Actually quite, quite good singers. REal good. Most of the guys suck bad, but there is maybe 1 that is ok - he does rap/techno sounds in with things. Something different, I guess.

Melinda Dolittle should win this hands down. She has by far the best voice of all the competitors.

American Idol makes their top 12 out of 6 girls/guys. The girl crop this year had a lot of great singers, not so much from the guys. So this fellow is definately sub par when compared to the girls.

Thus why Howard thinks it would be funny if he made the final two.

Yah, but I wouldn't protest if one of the other two black ladies wins - the young one (she is a bit on the bigger side) and then the one with the short short hair. All 3 of them - the 2 I mentioned and the one you mentioned - are absolutely fabulous singers. And I'm not just saying that because I am forced to watch the show; all 3 of them are pretty good. The guys, on the other hand....

Can't say I care. Maybe Stern and other like him can get a vote jihad going for the next US presidential election instead.
American idol already gets too much attention.

I would agree that all 3 gals are good. Lakisha would rate as my next best. That said if anyone of the 3 won it would be a good thing.

Hahahahah!!!!!!

Sanjaya is one of those guys I just want to punch in the face.

The good news for him tonight? It was probably his best performance to date. The bad news? It was still ear-splittingly awful.
