Default Holy moly!!! 40 and 42'' Samsung HD LCDS and plasmas - $999 blow out at the source!

Did any of you guys get in on this deal? The source is going out of biz and started yesterday they were blowing out all their HDTVs - LCDs and plasmas of all sizes. The best deals were the 40'' Samsung LCD (4051D) for $999 (retails $2000 everywhere) and the 42'' PLasma (4253), for the same price, (retails $1899). All stores cleared them out by noon yesterday. These were brand new. Sunridge had 6 brand new LCDs and were gone within 20mins of opening. So unless it was your day off, you dont work or you sent your wife over to get it for you...we working people had no chance getting in on it.

call me when they're giving them away for free, that's about the only chance i have of introducing my living room to one of those bad boys.

Talk about mismanagement. Radioshack was always the corner store that had the eclectic little novelty electronics and items for when you needed them.

Then the Source management came in and somehow thought that the way to turn the store around was to focus on big screen TVs as their primary product and profit margin.

Who goes into a little store to buy a big screen TV? It never made any sense and was obviously a huge error for them...especially considering that the market for flat panel screens is also one that fluctuates and has really slim to none margins.

yeah, i was wondering what the hell was going on there after the whole change over. i went in there to get a certain battery and had to wade through like 7 massive televisions at the front of the store. I kinda thought "what the hell is all this", but they had the battery so i was happy. Hopefully there will be some kind of radio shack like store in the near future, they had every little obscure electronic do-hickey you could ever need.

Don't think they are going out of business. Just clearing out stock and changing from the direction they were going with the big screen TVs.

They are shutting down 62 stores around Canada now but there is apparently like 800 left!
