Movies that made you cry
Here's a list of movies that made men cry. However, some movies on this list tend to make you question the legitimacy of said list. Like...Armageddon? That movie made me laugh.

Iron Giant was not included for some reason.
I suppose I should include my list
Iron Giant. yes, it is a cartoon. But this is the only cartoon that has actually choked me up. This movie had everything, good smart comedy, awesome action (one scene made me go HOLY TRANSFORMERS!!), and the characters were great. To this day, I still do not understand why it did so poorly at the box office.

Well, I know I am not a guy but the only movie on that list where I came even remotely close to crying was Backdraft, but that's because I become uncomfortable seeing Kurt Russell in any state of distress.
Good Will Hunting? Seriously?

Bruce Willis, giving his own eulogy, knowing he is going to break his promise to his daughter and die in an attemp to save humanity?
You are a cold, cold individual. (j/k)
But movied where people are willing to sacrifice their lives, and everyone recognizes they are sacrificing their lives has a chance to get to me. It is tough to do withough coming across as maudlin.

Father/son stuff always gets me.
And yes, Iron Giant rules.

Old Yeller - if you're a guy, definitely okay to cry at the end of this one. Perfectly acceptable.
Out of Africa - so sue me.
And almost, so close, The Fox & the Hound when the little fox is left in the woods and you see those big eyes in the rear view mirror as they're driving away . . . . . Lordy, it's almost got me going just thinking about it.

Oh man, I am such a baby. Iron Giant is the ruler of all animated movies. Love it love it love it.
Also for me, Good Will Hunting, Big Fish, Saving Private Ryan and Schindler's List are the top 4 for this big sissy.

An insanely powerful movie from an emotional standpoint for guys, and the sole reason I stopped watching the Oscars. After Titanic won that year, I knew there was no hope for Hollywood anymore.

Joe Dirt.. It's Always been you Joe!
To be serious though "Rudy" was pretty moving...
I am thinking the guy that wrote that article is a bit more emotional than most guys though... if I'd ever seen Steel Magnolias I certainly would not admit it...

My Life Without Me. It murdered my soul.
I love Sarah Polley. Nothing bad should ever happen to her in movies.
(It almost killed me to watch Dawn of the Dead for the first time).

Yup, Rudy is probably the only sports movie I get choked up on.
As far as chick flicks go... notebook Hey, almost off work!

Why specifically for guys? It was certainly an emotional movie, I guess I am having trouble understanding what makes this movie more emotional for men over other movies. I just wouldn't have ever thought of this movie if asked to pick a movie I think would make men cry.
And CP, Fox and the Hound is a good one. When you hear "And we'll always be friends forever," I get emotional... I don't cry though... then again, I'm a chick and this is a thread about movies that make guys cry, so I'll quietly move on.

My fiancee dragged me to Because I Said So, and I'll admit, it was a tear jerker.
Donnie Darko make me teary at the end the first time I saw it.
Rudy was a great flick. My fiancees brother looks exactly like Sean Austin. Not that he makes me cry or anything.
Philidelphia, for sure.
Father and son stuff always gets me too.

Here's another one. Though not a movie per se.
In Naruto, when Zabuza acknowledges Haku and feels for his subordinate's death, then goes on a rampage and kills all the ronins. That was powerful stuff and definitely the defining moment in the Naruto series.

As per that list, My Dog Skip. I can't watch sad dog movies, even though this is probably the only one I've seen.

I've never actually cried during a movie but I've gotten choked up. Mystic River did that to me.
