Default Auditioning for a game show

Has anyone here ever auditioned for a game show, or a reality show for that matter? Has anyone appeared on one?

I have an audtion on Wednesday and wondered if anyone had any good tips. This is the show: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ric...n_game_show%29 . Basically, you have to list things.

If I pass the audition and get on the show I am very confident I will walk away with some cash, as I find the show ridiculously easy (unless it is something particularly Australian, such as test cricketers). So I am really keen on passing the audition (however, as I am not a permanent Australian resident I don't even know if I am eligible, although I haven't been able to find any terms or conditions about participation).

Should I try my hardest in the audition, or should I hold back a bit so that they think they wouldn't end up forking out too much money to me? What else can I expect? I think they will also be evaluating my suitability for tv, demeanor, personality, etc. Any tips would be welcome.

No tips from me, cause I haven't a clue, but I'll be the first to wish a fellow Scott good luck!

The game sounds like it would be right up my alley as well. I wonder if the British version plays on BBC America.....

Never done it but I think they are looking for people that are going to make for compelling TV. Don't go over the top, but definately "play the part". If you've seen the show try to think of how people behave on the program - that's what they are looking for so emulate that. I imagine (but do not know by any means) that its less about how you play the game and more about how you behave.

Good luck!

Anyone remember that gameshow Kidstreet? When I was younger my sister and I tried out for it but apparantly we knew each other to well cause we got every question right and answered 2 of the 3 final puzzles.

I guess my advice would be to play dumb, don't be the dumbest guy there but don't be the smartest either

Unless it's jeopardy they usually aren't looking for the brightest people out there look at "are you smarter then a 5th grader?"

So you didn't get to sit in the cars and clap your hands above your heads?
