Some of you guys need to chillax.......
Just going through everything the past day or so, I just got to say some of you need to chillax a little bit. This is supposed to be a fantasy game and some of you are acting like little kids. We are all supposed to have a good time in this, not bicker at each other. If you have a problem with a gm, wouldn't it be best to talk with them privately and not on the board? It makes you look like an assclown otherwise. It's frustrating to see so many people do this.
Personally I like all the gm's on here and agents and commish's.........so let's just go out and get this thing they call the playoffs started, and have some fun! CHILLAX PEEPS, CHILLAX!

I actually was really enjoying the feedback and thoughts from people in the threads today until somehow it got out of hand.
Remember people read tone into posts. Think about that when you are reading a post - is that person really mean what it sounds like?
And when you write something - ask if it sounds like you are being a jerk...if so find a different way.
The suggestion threads always seem to go that way eventually. This one at least lasted a good half day first.
I'm sure that's why Cheese often would tell people just to email the league with suggestions. Smart guy that Cheese. Old though.

I loved the feedback as well, but then it got out of hand. This is a fantasy game yet some people take it like it's their first born for some reason and spaz out for no reason, lol.

I agree with you Neil, but you probably made this thread with regards to the locked thread, so allow me to explain myself.
I feel that I'm one of the GMs in this league who never insults other GMs or puts other people down in my posts. I take a lot of shots (mostly friendly ribbings ) which I don't mind at all and take them in stride with a smile (which actually Neil, you had mentioned yourself to me today, so I know you agree with me here).
My problem stems from a point that Grant brought up in his post about TONE. And Grant, you are not alone in your opinion of the importance of tone... and again, tonight, I spoke with another GM about the TONE of posts.
Why would I get irate over a fantasy game? I don't... What I get bothered by is when someone speaks to me like I'm an idiot. When they insist they need to spell things out for me and when the things they write are done so with a purposely condescending tone.
That, I don't appreciate. And that's the only time I go off. How many times have I gone off honestly? And how many members have I gone off on?

Well from time to time you've made me cry I can tell you that much.
Seriously good points. Some folks need to employ that little part of their brain that says "woah there...is that really how you want to say that" more often.

They sure do.
Kev hit the nail on the head when he mentioned condescending attitudes. Very astute Mr Wu

The thing is most issues should be able to be worked out.
Last year I was pretty harsh on a particular Gm and I didn't know it upset that GM as much as it did. But I did talk with him and we worked things out. We do get along, and have always had good conversations when we talked, but that didn't neccessarily mean we knew each others personality types that well.
I'm glad I made the effort to mend that fence because now that GM is one of the GM's I'll go talk to a bit more frequently, and we do have some good conversations that I enjoy a lot.

Wu, you're my homeslice, I never made this thread in regards to you. It was in general for all 32 gm's, 4 agents, and the commish's.

I am sure some people here are referring to me here in his thread but you know wanna know something?
Certain things read different ways and mean different things in some places...
Newfoundlanders word and say things sometimes that doesn't make sense to some people yet it makes perfect sense to us. It's called dialect! What many of you might see as a "condesending tone" sometimes from me really isn't meant to be that way. I am sorry some of you take it the wrong way but I will not be watching and editing every single one of my posts just to make sure that I conform with the "mainlander slang".
Also, if someone can't take a 'dig', they shouldn't dish one out in the first place.
CHILL, everyone take 10 deep breaths.

I gotta agree with Dave on the Newfie Dialect part, if people heard us talking to our friends they would think that we hated each other, it is constant burns, with not a lot held back. In fact I think if i went a day without calling Dave a jerk and burning him 5 or 6 times he would think there was something wrong.
Dave seems to be at the center of most disputes and a lot of the time is because he is a jerk, and people need to realize that and take things with a grain of salt and call him on it rather then take things personal cause I am pretty sure that nothing written on these boards is personal, at least I would hope not. I never take offense to any of his posts or think anything of them, because I am used to people talking that way and not thinking anything of it.
PS. When a newfie starts taking digs at you, it is usually a good sign and means they feel comfortable around you.

I'm sorry, but that excuse is VERY weak IMO.
Being a "jerk" and saying things in a condescending manner is not something that a region of people are inherently pre-disposed to. That to me, is ludicrous!
If it were so, I'd be at odds with you and Halifax... but I'm not, nor have I ever been. I wonder why?
What you mention between you and Dave happens because the two of you are close friends. This type of interaction is not reserved as unique for your region -- it's something that occurs everywhere between close friends.
You, admittedly pointed out that he's at the centre of most disputes... I wonder why that is?
I don't want to push this any further though, but I just really wanted to point out the flaw with the argument that the attitude is somehow related to the region of residence. I understand that you are his good friend, and I commend you on standing by him.
But if the argument were true, our community here would have seen a similar personality coming from you.
