Default Tim Horton's Brier

So, I don't watch a lot of curling, but on a yearly basis, I watch a lot of the Brier. Don't play much myself, but for some reason, I get hooked on it when it is on. I know a lot of people think curling is akin to watching paint dry, but I like it - maybe because is pure Canadiana.

And, is there a more perfect major sponsor for a sporting event, than Tim Horton's for curling?

And as I write this, Alberta knocks off Manitoba to make the playoffs.

I'm a big curling fan...the Brier is fun because the players can make virtually any shot.

I curled for a couple of months when I was in grade 7 and this year have gotten back into it. It is frustrating because in my head I can see the perfect shot but I am not yet good enough to make it exactly as I planned.

I think I heard Curling described as NasCAR for Canadians. But I do admit that I've been watching a bit of the Brier every night. My Uncle was the chair for the 96 Brier in Kamloops and I couldn't help but notice how Jeff Stoughton and Kevin Martin who were in the final that year are among two of the top teams again this year.

yeah, and the four best teams there made the playoffs, so it should make for a pretty good weekend of curling.

Personally I really like Curling; I have played for quite awhile. Picked it up when Hockey was getting to late at night.

I like watching the Brier for sure, but Alberta was lucky to beat Manitoba last night.

Now they play each other again in the Playoffs (game is at 12:30pm mst)

I also have to comment that I like that page playoff system they have where if you're one of the top two teams you get two chances to advance to the final, and one of those teams will get to the final. Makes the round robin actually count for something.

That is so true, especially in the brier where the winner has never come out of the 3-4 game. pretty much makes the round robin do or die.

Howard deserved the win. they've been the best team there for the past two years, he is a great shotmaker.
