Default I Like London - Are you sick of that Fan 960 Ad?

Featured over and over again on Fan 960:

http://www.ilikelondon.com/index_flash.html

Some annoying bird with a fake british accent:

I LIKE THE THEEE-A-TUR

I LIKE SHAAW-PING

Sure, living in an apartment over-looking Macleod Trail is just like living in London.

And what's so great about London anyway?

I LIKE BAD CUISINE

I LIKE URBAN BLIGHT

I LIKE PAYING $30 FOR LUNCH

Strongly agree. This commercial is ridiculous.

I particularly dislike the echoing woman's voice in the backround... "I like LON-DON LON-DON LON-DON"...

She likes the theater? She probably shouldn't move to these apartments then, because there is no theater nearby.

All the ad's on 960 are horrible. I'm not even sure they have succsessfully promoted a single thing to me on that station, horrible marketing dept.

Agreed, that ad makes me want to hurt someone. Makes you wonder who they "test" these ads on. I mean, do you really want to annoy everyone? How will that make your ad effective.

you guys are forgetting what advertising is all about

this thread alone proves that the ad is doing what it is intended to do, and that's making you aware of the product

Regarding Fan 960 ads... is it actually a crime to walk through a drive-thru?

It's just not the FAN960, I have heard it on 107.3, 98.5 and 92.1

Most exciting condo development in Calgary? That's the biggest lie going...

And yes, it's super annoying.

I don't think its an arrestable offence... I just don't think you'll get served. Dunno why you can walk up though, anyone know?

Well that situation escalated really quickly. Poor guy.

I would imagine that it's simply considered dangerous for an individual to walk up to a window.

I don't know. I'm pretty sure if I had some extra cash I would buy a brand new Intella-bed.

I think they say it is a safety issue. Other vehicles coming thru maybe?

Or maybe because those damn pedestrians just cut in line with ease whenever they want... people are a lot more agile than cars when it comes to snagging spots in line

I think the London campaign is a national one. Toronto has a similar project underway I believe - you've got to think they're sharing marketing materials.

At least they could have gotten someone that wasn't faking a British accent.

Hey - the brilliant thing about the London adds is that they got you talking about it and someone actually hit the website.

Personally I love the adds preferring to add my own things that the uptight fake-British lady likes...

I agree though that the Fan has some of the most iritating advertising on the air - Calgaryjobshop ads get turned off when the come on. But all of the annoying adds are working - if I had to look up an odd job I know where i would go - ditto for hot tub purchses (I would like to shoot the parrot for sure)

End of the day, these guys are making Mike Richards, Rob Kerr, Peter Marr and Flames games available for me to listen to... So until Maxim Magazine and Coors light start taking an interest in the Calgary market, I guess I will have to put up with these ads

Those apartments are being built in a god horrible location.

All thats around there are some shabby side roads, a c-train station and beat up car dealerships.
