Default Err... I'm off to Brussels?

What with all the wierd "going to Europe" announcments here this morning, I guess I should post that as well. Well, provided I get my passport. They mixed it up and now I won't be able to pick it up at Harry Hayes passport office until the morning that I leave!

Question: My flight is actually 2 days in advance of the place I'm booked to stay at. If I arrive 2 nights earlier, are hostels cheap in general? Or should I just sleep at the airport or something?

Try Hostel world, the Youth Hostel Van Gogh (Chab) is good. I strayed there for game 6 in 2004 and the staff helped find me a pub with the game.

Belgium is very very dull so make sure you drink lots of their strong beers to make it seem like a fun country. I have got nothing against Belgium or Belgians but its seriously boring. They make good chocolate too so bring some home for friends, family etc.

The diamond mine is alright to visit but as has said before, kind of a boring country. They also have mother lot of chocolate of there, its like the land of chocolate from the Simpsons.

What do you do in England that you can't do in Belgium?

Yeah, that is weird, not only CP but half my friends are going too (or in general, everyone that is graduating that I know is going to Europe)

I'm going myself, but to Cyprus and Greece instead.

Aww, man....now I wish it was last year. Then I would be going to Europe in a few days. Bollocks.

Never made it to Brussels. It was in the original plans but it ended up being overlooked in favour of having more time in Germany.

I had passed through Belgium several times through my trips to Europe and never gave it a thought. A couple years back I made a specific trip to Belgium to see what was up and I had an amazing time. Spent most of my time in Ghent, Brugges and Brussels. I found the people extremly friendly and eager to engage. I found the places I visited to be very clean and not as seedy(using the word as non-negative as possible) as other top euro destinations.

Sadly, it's not really a vacation, it's for a school thing for a month. Sit in with EU governments and stuff. I'm supposed to be back by June 3rd but maybe I'll decide to stick around Europe for another month spontaneously with no planning (scares the heck out of me though).
