Default Need Mechanic Advice - Blower Motor

Ok so my blower motor in my 2008 Lancer has been making sounds for a while now. This winter it got VERY loud and just a month ago it finally died. I took it out and it is trashed. I bought a new blower motor on eBay (couldnt find any in the city, didnt not go to dealership) and I plugged it in and nothing. Thought maybe the one I got on eBay was faulty so bought another one, still nothing.

Any ideas what the problem is? Tested power to wire and it has power. Could it be the ground? The fuse? Controls? Im still not 100% sure which fuse powers the blower motor. If someone could point that out, that would be helpful too.

Thanks guys. The weather has been OKAY so far this month but it gets very foggy when it rains. Need help ASAP and CP is the place to be.

I am by no means a mechanic (or even mechanically inclined, really), so don't take the following as a really definitive answer.

When the blower went out on my 2000 Malibu it turned out that the fuse had blown; not sure if the wires to the motor would have power if the fuse is gone, but worth a look. I don't suppose you have the manual that tells you where all the fuses are? I couldn't find any quick references online to help locate where it is on yours (it was on the passenger side panel with mine, a small 15 amp one).

If you can verify that the motor works by hooking it directly up to power, the next thing to look at would probably be the blower resistor...not sure how to check if it's gone or not. Past that, I got nothing.

Blower resistor is pooched if your heat only works on max or min.
The blower motor was making noise so very likely that was it.

Seeing as you "didnt not go to the dealership", what did they say? (just messing around)
At this point, you obviously dont want to pay dealership pricing for install but why not go pay them to diagnose the problem. Shouldnt take more than a hour.

The blower motor should have a relay. Which are cheap and easily replaced. Do you not have the manual for the car? It should clearly state fuse/relay locations and what each one is. No manual, Google should help you.

Blower motor control module is pooched. Blower motor likely had some dirt/debris in it that caused the motor to pull too much amperage and pooch the resister/control module. Replace that and the motor and you should be good to go. Hopefully the control module didn't cause a short somewhere lord god dyin up in the wiring harness. Also, hopefully this is accessible without dismantling the dash.
