WOOF!
Well at least it wasn't a loss. The Wings storm back in the 3rd to tie the game. Jagr leads the way with 2 points.

Even our AHL teams tied 3-3

Bring on the Dick-less Panthers tomorrow.

Capitals win old fashioned shoot out with the Flyers..

Tanguay put up a 3pt performance and Adam Mair scored in OT to pace the Capitals to a big win.

The goat of the night was Alexandre Auld as he was pulled in the 3rd. He needs to get better when he gets the shot to play.

The Capitals moved within two points of the Panthers and 3 of the Canadiens for top spot in the conference and league. They still have a game in hand. This will be a tight race.

Game Notes
Dainius Zubrus injured at 14:52 of the 3rd Period
Johnny Oduya ejected at 14:52 of the 3rd Period
Rostislav Klesla injured at 19:33 of the 3rd Period

Good thing we weren't playing the Pens

Johnny Oduya has a superb game, notching a +2 before cross checking Zubrus in the kisser.

This was a much needed shutout for Miller. The team needed to see some confidence in him after the brutal 5-1 loss to the Blues.

It's a One Way Streit!

Mark Streit with a goal and two assists as the Jackets spend half the game on the PP and take a 3-1 win over the Jets. The Jackets had no shortage of oppurtunity as GM Walsh and his gang of thugs tried to play the intimidation game. To a certain extent it was very effective as Cory Stillman and Brian Pothier both succumbed to injury. Brad Ference took out Stillman by kicking him for cripes sake. Karel Rachunek finally did something good collecting a goal and an assist and Petr Cajanek continues to collect points with two more assists.

Time to assess the damage and move on I guess.

Nice win over the Sharks. Smolinski leads the way with 3 points. Bryzgalov finally at .500 after starting slow. Slowly putting away teams 9-16 from having any hope of catching us which is goal #1.

Nice rebound victory for the Kings in New York. Fast start in this game with the team holding on for a close win leaves the Kings in contention for a playoff spot.

Flames freaking 9??? Canadiens 2

What da hell???
Flames go 5/8 on the PP.
were the Canadiens even in the same building???

I am at a total loss for words here. RJ Umberger, 1 G and 3A in 8 minutes of playing time, that has to be some sort of new record!

Power Play Conversions FLAMES 5 for 8
CANADIENS 0 for 3

Game Stars
1 - R.J. Umberger (FLA)
2 - Evgeny Artukhin (FLA)
3 - Alexei Zhitnik (FLA)

Rookie Paul Stastny continues to impress as the Devils defeat the Bolts 3-2 in overtime. An impressive 2-goal performance helped recently acquired Devil Jose Theodore get the win, as he stopped 31 of 33 shots.

Hmm not big suprise. A loss to the Panthers. Schaefer got the start and took the loss as Lehtonen needed the rest.

Next up the Devils as we look to rebound.

The Wings are on a season high 5 game unbeaten streak. 4-0-1 The team has not lost since Jason Allsion was plucked off waivers to the Jets. Comrie, Huselius, Malone and Connolly continue to lead the way. Seems Turco must stand on his head most game's however for the Wings to be competitive.

The Rat Attack

The Rat leads the Hurricanes to a 6-3 victory over the Ducks. Scott Mellanby who’s 4 point effort help sparked the Hurricanes charge as ‘Canes No.1 line of Mellanby, newly acquired Chris Gratton and Anson Carter proved to be too much for Anaheim.

After trailing for most of the first period the Hurricanes defender Mike Rathje one timed a point shot past Marc-Andre Fleury tying the game up at 1-1. In the final minutes of the opening period Scott Mellanby scored sending the Hurricanes to the dressing room with a 2-1 lead. Much of the second period was split down the middle as the Ducks and the Hurricanes traded chances with both teams tallying a goal each.

Any momentum that the Ducks were trying to gain in the 2nd period was quickly taken away in the beginning stages of the 3rd as once again Mellanby was able to get to Fleury and then assisted on Gratton’s first goal as a Hurricanes as the Ducks goaltender was chased from the net and replaced by J-Sebastien Aubin. As the Duck has a sudden push and brought the game to a 5-3 margin David Legwand was once again able to regain the Hurricane dominance as round out the 6-3 victory for the struggling Hurricanes.

The Hurricanes look to build on last night success as they fly home to Raleigh and host the injured Pittsburgh Penguins
