Locking threads for no Reason
Im sorry, but the mod decision to lock "I can't stop talking about Dion Phanuef" is completely unwarrented.
What is the motivation behind doing so?

Because it was bumped after months and months so someone could say "lets go dion phaneuf"
Start a new one if you want.

Why would I tell you to start a new one and then just lock it? Or are you just looking for something to complain about?

Im just making a point that starting a duplicate thread goes against what the norm is here. It was just sad to see such a good thread locked. I guess thats up to you guys to decide.

Oh for pete's sake..
If a topic is a day old and a new thread gets created, it's a fata.
If a topic is six months old, it probably doesn't need to be resurrected. And if it does then there should be a good reason to do it (i.e. it's relevant), not just to add spam to it.
It's common sense, try it.
If you have a point, make it, don't use stupid sarcasm.

I was hoping you would lock this thread after saying that. It would have been hilarious.

I have to agree that it was locked for not a great reason IMO. I made the comment that it was back for no reason, but I guess if people are still posting in it, and haveing fun out of it, why not let it be? Its one of the only light hearted threads on the main page.

The first page of the forum is where people go to see the latest news and discussion on the Flames/NHL. When threads that haven't been active for 4 months get bumped for no reason its confusing and bumps a more timely topic off the front page.
It's all part of our efforts to keep the discussion on the board relevent and current.

I still wish threads would lock automatically after a couple months of inactivity.
I know the software doesn't support this, but perhaps some sort of a script?

There probably is, something to look at if it becomes a big issue, but it really doesn't happen that often.
