Default North Korea to disarm?

Are they to be believed? Is this too good to be true?

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/02/13/wo...ld&oref=slogin

BEIJING, Tuesday, Feb. 13 — North Korea agreed today to close its main nuclear reactor in exchange for a package of food, fuel and other aid from the United States, China, South Korea and Russia. The breakthrough, announced by the Chinese government after intense negotiations, came four months after North Korea tested a nuclear bomb.

I hope it's true, but $400 million worth of canned ham and gasoline doesn't sound like enough to even cover what North Korea has already spent on the program, let alone bribe them to dismantle it. I'd say there's either more involved, or North Korea is scamming us.

My gut tells me that its another agreement that Kim has no intention of keeping. The only way that we see change in North Korea or disarmament is when his body is lowered into the ground and covered with a ton of concrete.

I guess that would constitute "something more involved."

Very very skeptical. But it's better than the deal we had the day before yesterday.

We'll see in short order.

I have my doubts about this agreement. Me thinks Jong will find ways to hide his nuclear program from the rest of the world.

Still something had to be done and i'm hopeful this works out.
