Could be a good media PC for Windows users. Not sure about the companies reputation though.

Hardly revolutionary though. It's the same size as the Mac mini and it was introduced 2 years ago. Comes with a hard drive, memory, and processor too.

What's the price difference? That is a big deal.

The article you linked to says $420 cdn for one without hard drive, memory or processor (and no os i imagine).

Mac Mini starts at $649 cdn and is due for an update any time now.

There have been SFF PC for years. The biggest issue is usually heat. With AMD & Intel trying to use less power (and generate less heat) these machines can get more and more power in small package. This machine would be perfect for a front end, but won't work for a full HTPC - there isn't enough space in it for more harddrive capacity (my system has 300GB and if you want to store 2 or 3 series and some moves long term it can really eat up space). Additionally it doesn't appear there is any way to add a capture card. You could get a USB one, but as the article said, there are only 2 USB ports and they will get used up in a hurry.

If you have another main system that does all the capture and storage and just use this to run the front end it will be great. Good price, too.

There are stackable add ons for the Mini including a 750 gb hard drive and a tv capture device that does the processing rather than the Mini. They stack to make it look like one unit.

Then it isn't quite so "mini" anymore.

But I know what you mean. I'd like to get an Apple machine but for the things I do (at home and work) an Apple wouldn't work. (I know, bootcamp, but that makes an expensive 90% PC/10% Apple machine)

Plus, I like all the different hardware options/possibilities/combinations. Apple is a closed system.
