I heard on the radio there was a pileup on calf robe...I was only half paying attention though so I can't confirm that.

Due to a number of collisions on southbound Deerfoot Trail
between Glenmore Trail and Southland Drive, that section of
southbound Deerfoot Trail is currently closed, and traffic is
being diverted onto Glenmore Trail.
Police will advise the media when this section of southbound
Deerfoot Trail reopens.
Police advise motorists to use caution, as many local roads
are slippery due to recent snowfall.
RELEASED BY THE PUBLIC AFFAIRS / MEDIA RELATIONS UNIT FOR
A/DUTY INSPECTOR KEVIN FORSEN.

Thanks, but that's OK. If I did that I'd still have to grab a train to Briddlewood, then wait 45 minutes for the Copperfield bus. (Which runs every hour.)

A little more detailed description...
This afternoon at 2:20 p.m., Calgary Paramedics responded to
Southland Drive at Deerfoot Trail SW for reports of a motor
vehicle collision.
As a result of this collision, Paramedics provided Advanced
Life Support Care for a woman, believed to be in her 20’s who
had sustained head injuries. She was transported to the
Foothills Hospital, with the assistance of CFD in serious,
non-life threatening condition.
At the same time, Calgary Paramedics responded a multi
-vehicle collision on southbound Deerfoot Trail, just south
of Glenmore Trail. No patients required treatment or
transport at this location.
Paramedics were then requested to southbound Deerfoot Tail at
Glenmore Trail SW. Paramedics transported a 52 year old
female to the Peter Lougheed Hospital for further evaluation,
with back pain. She is in stable condition.
The Calgary Police Service continues to investigate the
details of these collisions.

Well, its back open but it sounds like getting down south is gonna suck. Apparently Barlow and MacLeod are PACKED and there is a stall at Crowchild south at Glenmore (which is backed up to 33 AVE). Blech.

My bus took Barlow instead of Deerfoot. Took an extra 25 minutes and that was mostly driving along at a crawl.

I drove in some pretty nasty conditions on the way back from Edmonton, but being determined to get away from Satan's den, I persevered.
I must have seen 13 cars on thier roofs in the ditch, and one tractor trailer that rolled his trailer right off of the hitch.
0 visibility, icy as hell, scarier then hell.
Its a tshirt logo waiting to be made

Interestingly enough, I took Deerfoot SB at 6:15, and it was clear sailing from 32nd all the way to Glenmore and beyond.
Roads were not bad, but it sounds like the aforementioned accidents probably happened due to excessive speed for the road conditions.

I was supposed to go up to Edm for work today - made it to Red Deer, said F it, did some work there, then came home.
Did you see the Semi just outside of Crossfield I believe that jack-knifed? Traffic was a bitch on HWY 2...

big accident up Shaganappi up nose hill to Edgemont. front right side of a smaller car looked completely crushed in but it looked like nothing penetrated the interior. A clear lane though so no problems really.

Yeah, that was about an hour delay for me, crawling along the highway at 2 km's an hour.
Pretty impressive looking too as the trailer looks like it got ripped right off of the truck.
funny thing is that the majority of the vehicles flipped over or trashed in the ditch were 4 wheel drive SUV's.
