hard trade for the Sabres to make as we really didn't want to move Budaj who has been with the team since 2002 and is finally making a name for himself. However we had to realize our team had some major holes, especially in top pairing D men, and hoarding 3 goalies in that situation made little sense. Once Giguere re-signed for 2 more years after this one, and with Tuuka Rask in the system we feel a little more easy moving Budaj. We wish him and Kendall all the best and are happy to get Zatkoff in the deal as he has some upside
Stuart essentially becomes the Sabres top D man, but a group that includes Mara, Beauchemin, Green and Kalinin is a decent young core. Veteran presence is provided by Devries and Pratt. The Sabres may actually dress 7 d for now, as the other 6 guys are playing well, but Pratt (73 DF) is available.
