Default IT jobs

My father has a friend of a friend in Calgary looking for a IT job from Montreal. Is there a good site around to look at posting? Whats the best way to look for available jobs in that field?

I think Workopolis is pretty good. Some companies post exclusively through there.

Keep in mind, IT is not in the job influx as the rest of the jobs in Calgary. If you dont know someone in the industry in the city you are moving, I wouldnt suggest moving here expecting to find a "tech job".

Apart from that, the basic jobs can be found on Workopolis (helpdesk etc)

Beleive it or not, Monster.ca has some good jobs posted on there once in a while.

There are some decent placement agencies as well.

- CNC Global is not bad
- Procom is pretty good
- I've also heard good things about Metafore

A consulting company I used to work for, IT Matters Inc. is usually hiring also. Depends how desperate he is though for the last one.

The only piece of advice I can give, having just come out of the job search market myself, is to be patient. There are lots of good IT jobs in this city, but you really have to have some patience when looking.

Hope that helps,

TS
