Default How do I stop this?

Sometimes when I read a page usually viewing the first new message I'll read a few screens oblivious to the fact that a image somewhere on the page is still loading or waiting to load and boom it goes back up to the first new message after the image is done loading then I have to scroll down and find where I was reading. It's just more annoying than anything. Is there anyway to stop it from doing this? I'm using IE6 in WinXP.

Oh ya I put it in this forum help/suggestions cause it happens on this site. Maybe could belong in computer help thread.

Telus DSL 3Mb. It doesn't happen all the time. I'm not sure what it is. It may be an image in someone's sig that hosted on a slow site or some ad.

Yeah; I get that from time to time as well. If you were on dial up, I'd say you were SOL.

I'm not really sure there is a way around it; the fact of the matter is when it happens its because we are trying to use the page before it loads completely.

Maybe Photon has a trick tucked up his sleave.

I know there is a way to go into the HTML coding and make the entire page wait to load until each graphic is loaded... however I dont know how much freedom Photon has with this vBulletin software.

Turn off signatures is one way.

Hm, yeah I think there's a way to change the HTML to prevent that sort of thing, but that'd be at a lower level than I'd have access to with this forum software.

The only thing I can think of is to try Firefox which I don't think has this problem.

BTW: Userbars.com is dead. Some people linked to them (instead of copying the gif to image hosting) and I've noticed that is holding up a few pages which results in the behaviour LockedOut noted.

Any way to remove references to userbars.com from people's sig?
(personally, I just include userbars.com/* in my adblock filters)

We could to it manually.

Photon- seeing as you're the brains of this operation; is there an automated script we could run?
