Go-Karting in Calgary...

Hey,

We are trying to plan some social events for our company. One thing that was tossed around was Go-Karting.

Where is a good place to go in Calgary for Go Karting? Any idea what the prices are like?

last i checked it was pretty dismal.

kart gardens at the airport (almost ended up working there in 1996 but not enough hours) isn't around i don't think unless they relocated it, the 'grand prix' place at crossroads is not impressive, isn't there some big place north of town?

There is a place near the Golf dome in the south. I think you're a couple months away from go-karting...

"Grand prix" is closed and is now a furniture store. Ricky Bobs (north of Calgary) is now a RV sales place.

man, we need some place like 'malibu' in kelowna but with enough space to get real speed with those monsters, 440cc i think.

the kart gardens carts were pretty nuts, they were bare bones and really went. had to be 40+ mph.

maybe it's not a profitable business to run, maybe the insurance costs are high and fuel isn't getting any cheaper.

kart gardens a decade ago seemed to be barely running, and land near the airport isn't known to be worth a lot. wonder what happened to them.

Nuts is the right word, considering the state of repair for some of the chassis.
