Default Video editing help...

Okay, so I recorded a video on my cheapo digital camera, and I uploaded it to my computer. When I play it in a media player, it plays for like... 10 seconds, then says the file is corrupted and it can't play further. BUT, if I just skip that spot, to, say, five seconds after, it plays normal.

The problem is, if I load this in my Windows Video Editor software, it loads the video up until that corrupted spot, and won't load anything after it. I need the rest of the darn video!

Is there any way I can either fix the corrupted spot, or cut the video after that corrupted spot, so I can at least attempt to splice them together, or something? This is annoying as hell, because I don't have the video on my camera anymore.

Anyone?

Hmmm....

What if you downloaded a recording program that records what is playing in your active media player window, play and capture the part that plays after the corrupted part and bring in the new file and splice the two clips in Movie Maker?

Sorry, not a Windows guy so I don't have software names for you. I would do this in Quicktime Pro with the right codecs and splice into a third file. Maybe that will insipre some Windows guys with a better answer.
