I was reading an article on the 18 soldiers that refused to do convoy duty and read something that caught my eye.

"In (Brig. Gen. James E.) Jim Chambers' opinion, the most dangerous job in Iraq is driving a truck," he said. Soldiers take their missions realizing "it's not if, but when, they will be attacked."

Not a matter if, but when they will be attacked. How can anyone honestly say they are happy with the progress in Iraq when trucks are pretty well guaranteed of being attacked?

Iraq is NOT a dangerous place

While I havent been following this debate closely lately, who exactly said Iraq is not a dangerous place, and in what context was this statement?

IMO trucks are prone to be attacked because the people driving them are non combat troops, and the obvious they deliver supplies so of course its dangerous to drive them, cause the milita against the US want the supplies.

Actually they're probably more focussed on disrupting suplies to the Americans.

True that, they also gain from getting the supplies.
