Best Xmas Gift Ever?
Inspired by the "Worst Xmas Gift Ever?" thread, I thought this one might be interesting. What is the best thing you have got on Christmas?
For me, it may be this year... I already know I am getting a Flames Home Authentic jersey... precisely what I want.

Nintendo 64 back in the day... my dad literally got the last one in the city and pretty much had to tip the person at the Northill Sears $20 to sell it to him because it was on layaway.

One year my folks bought me and my brother a full set of really nice road hockey equipment. That was the start to many, many years of constant road hockey action. I don't think any other Christmas present was ever used more.

I'm going to go ahead and assume that those two things didn't happen in the same year.
Nice, though. It's good to remember that sometimes the best gifts you receive aren't actual gifts.
My best present ever was probably a punchcard for the local rink so that I could play free shinny for a year and a half. It was from my wife, and cost quite a bit, though we probably saved money in the long run. But I'm pretty easy to please, I guess.

I remember getting my first computer for Christmas. Way back when I was the first person in my class to have a HOME computer. Pretty neat.
What's neat about it is now I'm a "computer guy", and that day might have started me down that path.

got a goalie stick when I was 11. That sucker lasted for about 6 years worth of street hockey games.

My sister and I got an Atari 2600 and a few games for it. At the time, this was like getting a Wii or PS3 (and in some ways better, cause in our minds there was nothing before hand to compare to).
We played Combat for hours and hours and were in complete awe.

I begged and begged for a remote controlled car one year. I got it. Less than 24 hours later it was road mulch. Mom was choked.

Loved the NES way back in the day, oh and the GT snow racer was pretty wild too.
I asked for goalie equipment every single year but I never did get it. Now that I realize how bloody expensive hockey equipment is in general, I can understand why I never got it.

The best gift I ever got was the willpower to not snoop for my Christmas presents. It was quite an accomplishment for me because I really don't have any self-control (I'm an alcoholic, vicodin junkie and relentless auto-erotic asphyxiator). On my bad days/nights I look back at that first non-snooping Christmas and it's like a light in the darkness.

Lol GT snow racer! How classic were those!
Back home in the Kootenays someone always ended up twisting their ankle or hurtin themselves somehow by wiping out on those bad boys. And to an 8-yr old, how b***hin was that steering wheel!
Best x-mas gift though? Probably gotta keep w/ the video game theme and say the original Game Boy when it first came out. My dad would always pack things in gigantic boxes and make you fight your way through like 20 layers of packaging too.. Note to all parents: it's only funny the first time.
