IMO, where the IPOD has a huge advantage over others, is their accessories. The aftermarket accessories for these things towers endlessly over others. Aside from that, I think they're a tad overprice being Apple products and all.

I have a new iPod that I bought, and I'm sure I could get by with some other brand of MP3 player, but I enjoy this one. It is nice having a plethora of accessories at my fingertips, despite not really needing any of them.

Is it also 99 cents for you guys to download music from the ITunes website in Canada? Just wondering.
I like the IPod because of the accesorries...you can buy an armband and then go running while listening to your IPod, or you can listen to it in your car etc.
How much are they goin for up north?

That's a great deal I didn't get anything extra thrown in with mine. I am addicted to buying songs off their site..hehe. It's so much better than buying an entire cd and liking only 2 or 3 of the songs and paying 15 bucks for it.

Ok thanks for clearing that up.
So how do you guys know what music to download? Can you sample it first? Is it worth getting the players that use video?

I am thinking of getting the 80gb iPod. Do you also get the movies from iTunes? What other content is available video-wise?

Video is not available in Canada yet. Content is available through other means and you can always rip and encode your own collection.

I have the 30gb iPod video. Full with 3070 songs, I also have another 19gb of music for me to go through and see what I want out of all my music.
I don't use it for video because it eats the battery like crazy to watch anything.

I got a 1gb nano for graduation in June, and I've used it on every road trip I've been on since, including a 20+ hour bus ride to Niagara Falls. I think another advantage that iPods have over other players is the warranty...it's a full year with purchase, and you can get extra (my brother and his wife set me up with up to 3 years warranty), which is a good thing for people who are prone to break things (like I am).

you get the songs from the itunes website, and yes you can sample songs before you purchase them...so you can see if you'll like the song or if it was the same song you were thinking of etc.

I got the 80gb one for m wife. We would like to try it but the itunes site is REALLY REALLY REALLY slow. I assume that this is due to everyone trying theirs outs. At least I hope becasue if it is this slow all the time then that really sucks.

Not the new one I sold my old 60gb to my bro, bought the 80gb that came out a few months ago and it has almost double battery life with video. 6.5hours where my old one was 3.5 tops
