How much Jell-O can I eat?
So I was sitting around talking with a friend (actually, the same dude that spawned the Jr Bacon Cheeseburger thing) and we were trying to think of another challenge.
A bunch of options came up. Cans of corn, taco tuesdays, Tona Roma ribs, burgers again, baked potatos, etc. Then it hit me. Jell-O.
I like it cause i have no idea how much I will be able to eat in a sitting. I do know however that I have to get the sugar-free kind. With my quick estimates I was looking at eating something like 0.5 - 1kg of sugar in a sitting and I really dont think thats good for anyone.
So I thought I'd throw it out here for discussion. All the Jell-o will be made as per the directions on the box and will be consumed in one sitting.
My guess...10 litres? I guess that would be about 2 and a half gallons?

Good question, not one that I ever really gave much thought to.
Have you ever tried the 72oz steak challange? I don't know where in Calgary would have it (I'd assume somewhere) but in Lonestar in Halifax if you eat the 72oz steak with all the trimmings within an hour you eat for free.
It's something that I'm gonna try in the new year.
The Jello... hmmmm... I don't know how much you could eat, but I'd like to try that.

10 Litres is alot...thats a good goal.
One thing I've always wanted to see someone try to eat alot of is that Nutella stuff. just eating it by itself would be tough.

For such a stupendously inane feat that you are embarking upon, I suggest the gelatin be shaped in an unusual mold. What vessel I'll ponder, but red and yellow Jello in the Flames colours is a must.

i would say eating more than a gallon would be tough. you might put some marshmallows on top to keep it interesting.
have you considered eating jars of pickled eggs?

Yeah 10 liters is rather optimisitc...people find it next to impossible to drink a 4L jug of milk in hour, so 10L of what is essentially just fluid is way too much. Unless you are planning on sitting for a verrrrry long time, but you'll probably have to urinate long before you are even close to finishing.

Me and a few buddies have an ongoing 4 litre milk challenge, that no one has yet been able to complete. You get 1 hour to drink it, and have to keep it down for one hour. One guy puked so hard his eyes were bloodshot for a week.
The next challenge might be doughnuts....we were discussing how long it would take to do 100 of the bastids. Any ideas? I was thinking hours....
You should do that one KG. See how many doughnuts you can eat, so I can set the challenge to my buddies

Well, I was just checking things out to make sure I wouldnt get aspartame poisoning. Looks like I can safely injest 22.5 litres of the stuff. That is about 45 10 gram boxes.
Umm, thought about the steak thing. That seems like alot of pressure heh. I'm not sure if I could eat a 72 oz steak, that is about 4.5 pounds...well, maybe I could but Im not sure if I could do it in an hour.
Vegamite, umm, I think Im gonna have to pass on that. Ugh, man. A tablespoon and Id probably be done, that stuff is vile.
I hate sweets so doughnuts are out. Pickled eggs ala Cool Hand Luke would be a good one but I wouldnt be able to stand the errmmm 'gaseous' effects.
As for the Jello, I think I will do a layer thing. Maybe I can get a clear bucket and do the Flames colors up.

3 litres...man, I cant imagine doing less then 4 or 5 for sure. Go at a nice steady pace, make sure I eat something earlier in the day and I should be able to do at least 4 litres. My 'goal' of ten litres would be...20 regular boxes of Jell-O. LOL oh man, this is gonna be a good one.

Kevan,
Most of that aspartame wont be absorbed anyways, and will likely stay in your colon yielding horrendous diarrhea in the process. If you opt for sugar, you will pee most of the sugar right out, followed by vast amounts of urine and the stench of a diabetic. Why not make a mixture of both, and instead of using adequate amounts of jello powder, use less, and substitute with water and gelatin powder. The water is the only thing responsible for the volume anyways, while the rest is just flavouring/texture.
Either way, good luck soldier.
