Default To all my fellow GM's Agents and Commishes

as many of you might know, I am the President of the Edson Minor Hockey Association.
last friday night, one of our PeeWee A players and his dad were travelling to Hinton for a hockey game. 10 minutes outside of Hinton, they truck they were travelling in hit a bull moose. As a result of his injuries the young boy died. The funeral services were held today and as you can expect, they community came together to celebrate this young boys life. Close to a 1000 people attended the service.
As a result, we have received many emails from Hockey Associations across the country.
Tomorrow night on HNIC during Coaches Corner, Don Cherry will be saying a few words about young Jesse James.
I ask that you please take a moment and watch the segment and say a small prayer for the James family.
Thank you all in advance.

Consider it done here in the deep South Axel.

My condolences to you, your friends and the family of the young man.

Tragic stuff.

Will make sure to catch that. Part of playing minor hockey in Canada does involve travelling a lot of miles on some less than stellar roads. As a result some truely unfortunate events like this do happen. One really has to feel bad for the family when something like this occurs.

11 years ago my dad and brother were coming home from a game in Merit B.C. They were within 5km of our house when some moron ran a stop sign and T-Boned them into an oncoming Semi Truck that was fortunately slowing down to turn left. Luckey for them they were driving a Mercedes Benz and suffered a few injuries but nothing life threatening. If they didn't have one of the safist cars on the planet at that time who knows what would have happened. But my brother needed knee surgery as a result of that, and my Dad just never quite recovered right from that accident.

I know how this feels (especially this week). Such a tragic loss. I'll be tuning in for sure. A tragedy that a young boy passed away who had his whole life ahead of him. RIP Jesse.

My condolences, Axel. The CPHL fraternity takes another devastating hit. What gives?

Axel, all the best to everyone up in Edson especially the James family. I will watch DC this week. And as far as I know all the Athabasca minor hockey teams were hoping to have a moment in silence before playing their games this weekend.

Horrible news. My thoughts go out to the James Family

Unfortunately these tragedies happen more than we know. We have too many tournaments here in Southern Ontario named as a “memorial tournament” from such occurrences.

I coach a Novice Traveling team here in Stoney Creek Ont. We play a team from St. Catherines this afternoon. We would like to say a few words for young Mr. James today before our game, would you happen to know what jersey number Jesse wore?

We will be tuned into HNIC

Jesse wore number 13 and he played for the PeeWee A Edson NAS Leafs.

Thank you all for your thoughts, I will pass them along to the family.

I tuned in and saw his picture on coaches corner. A beautiful young boy he was. RIP Jesse.

EDIT: The other story involving the Regina Pats player who died of cancer was very sad as well. Calling a team meeting and saying "I love you guys but I won't be here anymore" is so sad and I can't even imagine saying that to someone. Both stories were sad. RIP to both him and Jesse.
