Fernandez still very very rusty.

Yuck.

Eddie comes in and stones the Stars...rumors out of FLorida suggest a goaltending controvery as people in the streets continue to chant:

EDDIE, EDDIE, EDDIE...

And the standings get a little tighter up top. 3 teams could be number 1 once the dust settles after Saturdays games...

The 6 game losing streak is over!! Good goaltending match up as both Cloutier and Caron make 30+ saves. Jets looking forward to having Nik Antropov in the lineup tomorrow night.

Well this is getting a little bit funny now. 4 of my roster defenceman currently out with injuries now as Tyutin and Erhoff both go down in this game. Hopefully my Aucoin trade has gone through or I don't know what I can pull out of my hat in terms of icing a lineup. Team played a decent game and lost a tough 2-1 game to one of the CPHL's top teams. I hope a Lion or Tiger takes a chunk out of Hesla's arse for the way he gooned my defenceman today, not a fatal injury, but a nice flesh wound would suffice. Jerk.

well that was a frickin disaster. with sanford already less than 100%, budaj dresses as the backup, giguere gets hurt near the beginning of the game, and budaj gets shelled. Joffery Lupul suffers his weekly injury and the Sabres just keep on losing and losing and losing and losing and losing and losing

wow even our AHL backup got hurt. all of a sudden half the team is either hurt or tired

oh and Loooobs car died tonight too . I'm not happy

Wild Win Thriller

It was a matchup of the two top teams in the Howe conference - and the game certainly lived up to the hype.

The Wild came back from a 3-0 1st period deficit to win 4-3 overtime with young dman Freddie Meyer playing the role of hero, ending the game at 1:14 of the extra frame.

With the win, the Wild close to within a single point of the conference leading Avalanche. GM Farhall said the game was a good test for his club.

"The Avs play a very strong team game and early on they had the jump on us...anytime you can come back on a strong team like we did you have to be pleased".

To an extend the Wild were led by their lesser lights - as Matt Cullen and Mikael Samuelsson led the way offensively with 3 assists and 2 goals.

After the game the Wild activated Rusty Klesla from IR and he should be in the lineup on Saturday.

Avs jump out to an early lead against their arch-rivals, the Wild, and proceed to give the extra point away in OT.
Maurice was not a happy camper after this one. The goaltending that was so solid earlier in the year appears to be coming apart. Maurice can't be too surprised, as Huet and Thibault were both playing above expectations earlier in the year.
The Avs have become a 'hot and cold' team. They are on a win-one-lose-one trend and that won't get them too far if it continues.

Howl!

Yotes come back to tie Rangers 4-4. NYR Ray Whitney's fencing lessons finally paid off. At 14:45 the New York Jerk high sticked Mats Sundin and injured the Phoenix star for at least a week. So as revenge Radim Vrbata lined up Tim Connolly from across the ice and sent him flying to the press box (he is only day-to-day but the message was sent).

Chris Neil stepped into Mats spot in the lineup and had a game of his life. With 2 goals and an assist. Neil led the Coyotes charge back (+3 as well) all without taking a penalty himself - miraculous! He was also named the games 1st star.

Who made this schedule? The Yotes continue to rack up air-miles as this 4 day back to back schedule sees them go Phoenix-Boston-Phoenix-Philly

Slump in Pitsburgh? Sure seems like it, after reeling off 8 straight wins, the Pens are struggling to cope from the loss of star defenseman Sergei Gonchar. If this slide looks to continue, look for the Pens to address the loss by bolstering the blueline!

The Devils make it two in a row with a nail-biter against the Flames. Khabibulin has been playing some excellent hockey lately despite his suffering an unknown disease whose symptoms are causing him fatigue. Can they keep it up?

Hawks have a terrible game. They finally noticed that Antti Miettinen was missing. Someone spoted him in the press box with his head sewed back on. He is now able to sit up and take nourishment. He should be back in March

Anyway, ya the poor Wings are a demoralized bunch after that game. Totally outplay the Hawks and still can't get 2 points.

Sean Burke is Eddie like in the game. He has been studying old tapes of Ed
