Bolts End the Hunt

The Lightning have bolstered their current line up and hope to remain in the playoff picture with the acquision of Trent Hunter.

Heading the Nashville are Marek Zagrapan and Ratislav Olesz.

Time will tell if this deal balances or tips in the Preds favour but Tampa Management felt it was a risk they needed to take. Adding a player in Hunter that is versatile and still young in his own right for a couple of prospects that have yet to really leave their mark on the nhl is a deal I don't think you can pass up.

I think that's an awesome, awesome deal for Nashville.

Well Zagrapan isn't exactly showing a lot of fortitude in his first season in professional hockey something like 4 points in 17 AHL games. Olesz is a guy with a nice name, but 1 goal and 6 points in 26 games doesn't exactly impress. He's one of those guys who has never really put up great offensive numbers at any level and that scouts hoped would develop an offensive game. Both players are still young and can turn it around. But if they don't they just got traded for value that they may never achieve. Hunter seems to have gone a bit downhill since that really good rookie season, but he's got the ratings to produce now and won't fall off the map next year. I can see why the Bolts made this deal.

Olesz has been a guy I've liked for sometime but even I am starting to worry about him becoming the player he should be.

In short it's a classic prospects for established player deal

If neither Zags or Olesz work out, steal for TB
If both work out, steal for Nash
If one works out, even steven.
