Default Looking for financial planner (advisor)

I will be turning 30 in a month and a half and I really need to start planning for my future. I know that I should have started at least 10 years ago.

Can someone recommend a financial advisor for me. I have many questions with regards to how much money i should put away and where to invest them.

My only recommendation would be to ensure that the person you talk to has an appropriate designation (ie. CFP, PFP, CA, etc.).

This is true, many times they will try to sell you insurance that is expensive, they make the most money off of and is not tailored for your needs

Fair enough. I honestly think that a planner/advisor who will only build you a lot of wealth and do nothing to protect that for you is doing you a disservice. I have met a lot of planners who sell different products for the wrong reasons (and this is common amongst a lot of sales people in a lot of areas!).

You have to acknowledge though that sometimes insurance is the best solution. Also, remember that everyone hates the insurance companies, until they need them.

Anyway, just wanted to know where you are coming from.
