I think I'm going to have to steal this saying though. You know living here in Calgary, you could use this "joke" on a daily basis.

huh... we got a free 7 day trial, but they never stopped sending it... went about 6 months until they finally stopped and figured it out.

Now.. if the national post guy could just stop throwing the unwrapped paper on the snow... everything will be good.

We've had problems lately too. There have been a few times when its been delivered around 2 pm. They are normally pretty good about it though.

One thing that is cool is that is if you have a library card you can log in to www.calgarypubliclibrary.com and read the Herald for free. Still not the same with the morning coffee though

That's exactly the reason. My dad in Hawkwood has had a paper delivered for the last 25 years. He just cancelled his subscription as they got a paper to him 3 of 7 days in a week. Apparently they are rotatating a carrier in and out of Hawkwood - it has no set carrier in his area.

So far so good for me. They did miss a couple of times but they switched carriers one of the days and he was sick the other and both times the paper though late did arrive.

Otherwise it's there every morning.

why would people want to work as a carrier for $400/month and get up at like 3am... Not worth it in this city.

I cancelled a couple months ago.

On Friday I got a phonecall offering me a special price on a subscription. When I said not and they asked why, I told them they had missed a few papers and twice in one week I received the Sun instead (maybe the same carrier was delivering both and screwed up). So the person on the phone said "Maybe you had a subscription to the Sun."

I just hung up at that point.
