Default Fantasy Hockey Question - Goalie

Hey Guys/Gal,

(not really sure where this should go...there was a fantasy forum/question sticky at one point, but I can't seem to find it now...).

SO I am a pretty basic (yahoo) fantasy league.

I have as goalies: cam ward, lundqvist from the rangers (what a stinker this year) and curtis sandford. needless to say, goalie isn't my strong point...

Anyways, I just dropped Sandford (esp. with his injury now).

My question is this: Bryzgalov from Anaheim is available, as is Backstrom from Minny and Kolzig from Washington.

I am tempted to pick Bryzgalov, but I don't know how much he is really going to play coming off an injury and being Giguere's back up this year. Backstrom has real good #s, but how often does he play? And although Kolzig would give me a lot of starts....its just that he plays for, well, the Caps.

Any thoughts?

I'd steer clear of Backstrom, Fernandez carries too much of the load. Same goes for Bryzgalov especially with injury concerns. Ollie the goalie is a viable option though, lots of starts and he gets a ton of shots if you use that category. You might take a hit on GAA and wins but there's not much out there. Tim Thomas, if available, has been on fire lately. Good luck.

Does it count saves/shots or just wins? Either way - doesn't matter, I'd take Kolzig hands down. Bryzgalov is hurt again, Backstrom's a backup on a team heading down the standings - Kolzig is a bona-fide starter on a team with some potential. I'd take him ahead of Sanford when Sanford comes back too.

Kolzig is the only option there. What about the Lindquist (unsure of spelling) for Tampa Bay. Looks like Marc Denis is finished and Lindquist is getting all the starts and has been winning. Also the back up for the Preds (can't remember his name, Mason?) has been starting lately.

Definitely go with Kolzig. Look into acquiring goaltending depth through a trade.. but for some reason people think they can bend you over and you'll take it when they are trading goaltenders.
