My suggestion would a ceramic heater of some type. I have one that does a great job of giving off heat.

Ceramic is the way to go. Not sure which exact one is best for you though. How big of a room? Where is it going to be used?

The question is; the best for what? What do you want this heater to do?

Is it to be the heater for an area, or to suppliment? For example I keep the house at around 18 degrees, but use a small heater in my bedroom for when I'm going to bed. That heater would be different than one for heating your garage.

Well, some heaters do a better job of distributing heat than others

yikes! that's friggid man! I guess it would be good for watching Flames games though. You'd feel like your right on the ice!

back on topic

I have one of those oil-filled ones and it puts off tons of heat when you really crank it up. Recently by brother's apartment had the furnace quit and he borrowed it. He said it kept the living room warm quite nicely.

I'm talking about this kind...

Well.......DON'T get a "Duracraft Model CZ-2002," like the one that just fritzed out and threw sparks at me.
