Bruins go on 9 hour trade binge
Yup, its 5am and I am just done trading. I thank the GMs that sent in offers, especially for Demitra. I had actually planned to keep him until about 4 am when Noops came a calling.
Overall I feel we added some kick ass young dudes. I am especially happy with the quality of defensemen I was able to add today. If I keep this group together it is sure to be a powerhouse d-corp in the near future.
So, here is the in/out.

Gauthier to Washington with some cash for this season in exchange for Christoph Schubert and 4th ... The Capitals felt they needed an upgrade in their final pairing Defence.
Schnieder - Chara Boucher - Berard Gauthier - Michalek Tarnstrom

Annnnd we have another deal folks!!!!
In a rare moment the Bruins have made a trade with the Canes.
To Boston
Taylor Pyatt
Nigel Dawes
TO Canes
Jeff Friesen (UFA)
Scott Mellanby
We're happy to have a playable guy like Pyatt come back in a trade. Should be interesting to see how the sim feels about all this.

Pyatt wasn't happy about the 3rd line duties in Carolina and Friesen and Mellanby wasn't too happy about the thought of babysitting in Beantown

The Hawks are very pleased to have Jere Lehtinen join the team.
With the recent trades the Hawks feel they have added some firepower for now instead of the future. Maybe we screwed the whole thing up too.
Sigh

With Hossa, Jokinen, and Richards already in the fold, I think your team is going to push hard for a playoff spot now Becky.
Good work.

I agree with Sunil, there is no reason the Hawks can't push for the playoffs now.

yeah, there is....Their defence! Although they have some top end talent up front, and a goalie in Miller who's definitely on the rise.

Well, as I have told a couple people on MSN today already, a guy like Souray isnt really someone I am looking to move. He still fairly young, signed 3 years, playing awesome in the NHL. My plan hasnt been to throw away the next 3 years in the CPHL. I need to keep a few core guys around so I can remain competitive.
Also, for Theodore. Ive had lots of offers. But my intentions to move him are really low. If the young guys continue to do well this NHL season and I am able to pick up a UFA or two my team may not be that far off next season. So trading my starting goalie for a risky young guy isnt in my plans at all.
