Default Best way to share big files

Anyone have a recommendation for a service that will host large files (~500mb or larger). I am trying to send my family hd home movies. youtube and google reduce the quality too much. Stage6 is good, but it seems that my less computer savvy relatives have a tough time with the software, and it doesn't work on Windows 98.

I'm hoping for a site that allows just hosting of generic files, that I can just send a hyperlink, and they can click on it and easily download it and play it.

Something like this can be good:

http://www.yousendit.com/

Or a cheap account from dreamhost

This might be what you are looking for:

There's a new way to send large movie, music and other files without worrying about whether the e-mail systems can handle large attachments.

Free software from Pando Networks Inc. automatically converts your attachments into a small file that your friend or relative can simply open to download the original file from Pando or elsewhere. Beginning Tuesday, Pando is offering plug-ins to work with most Web-based mail services.

Thanks, I saw that today too. It requires a client install, and doesn't work on Windows 98 (Which is what my grandpa has on the computer that receives email, I guess).

Dreamhost is a good idea. I'd just set up a website with a link to files I've uploaded? That should work well.

Or even just upload the files to dreamhost and make the link (no website required) like www.whatever.com/myfile.mpg or what have you
