I'm curious why you threw out the thug label on this kid.
From everything I've read he wasn't ever in trouble. Maybe I missed something?

Yes, the canes have had decades of issues, not sure if the kid who was shot needs to be called names at this point though.

Yeah, from everything I've read, he was like the team guidance councellor and was one of the stabilizing forces on the team.

That actually seems pretty racist. I get the feeling that the poster assumed Black + Shot Down= Thug

I just hope the Thug label was directed at the university itself (which is probably justified) and not the kid itself. Everything I've read about him tells me he had a good head on his shoulders. Sad day for the sports world.

Your feeling or assumptions on the meaning of someone else's words is just as borderline.

I didn't pull it out on this kid, I pulled it out on the university. Miami U has always = Thug University.
Y'all need to re-read the title, anybody that goes to Miami U, I consider a student at Thug University.

Racist, you are kidding right, I'm far from it, where did I say black man shot again what a surprise. LOL. This is too much.
Thug University player is what I said. I didn't say a Miami University THUG PLAYER SHOT AND KILLED BECAUSE HE"S BLACK. LOL.
I said its sad but its not surprising that it happened at Thug University.

Ah, I see that now.
Surely you can see why the confusion though.
Thug university player shot to death.
Thug University player shot to death.
Pretty easy to interpret Thug as being an adjective to player along with university as opposed to university being a noun.

No reason to drop "R" bombs here. Nobody implied race whatsoever.
I wish the "R" word was commonly viewed as derrogatory as the "N" word.

Well I'm just drawing off of past experiences on this website, I can remember when that baseball player was shot in the knee when the team bus was shot at, I can't remember him being called a thug. I do now realise what the poster was talking about in the title but at the time I thought he was referring to the player. So I dont see why I was so out of line with my comment.
