Warning CP may induce seizure!
Has anyone else seen these god awful banner ads?
I don't mind having ads on any sites that I visit, except for a few kind.
The kind you have to see before you can visit the actual page, the kind the scroll slowly into the middle of the page, and the ones that flash bright colors over and over again until you have a seizure!
geez, what are you guys thoughts on these new ads?

Those type of ads are appearing more often. What I do is click the back button on my browser and then the forward- bang, the ad is gone.

Yeah, I use FF aswell, although I have never taken the time to download a adblocker. Maybe I'll try it. like I say most ads dont bother me though.

Actually ...
why don't all of you do it, that way we can make sure I don't take in any actual revenue and only expenses!

Calgarypuck is one of the few sites I allow ads. Just put up with it guys, the more ad revenue for Bingo the better.

Have you ever changed the channel during a TV commercial?
(Don't worry I let the Ads load).

I have an adblocker, but I have CP whitelisted.
Although that bright flashing as has made think about reconsidering. That is the first intrusive ad I've seen on CP.

I was pretty much kidding ...
I don't want to force people to endure what they don't want to. Is nice to make a little money above costs and make my time worthwhile though.

Bingo,
Do you get revenue from the ads being there or does it come if we click on them?(or a bit of both?)

CP is the only site that I allow pop-up ads... the poor student thing means I can't really contribute much when they hold drives to raise funds for new servers and stuff so I figure its the least I can do.
The flickering ones don't really bother me that much.. but the one that used to have the emoticon screaming out HELLO ! used to get me in trouble at work.

You could just turn off animation for the GIF ads. They are still there, but aren't doing much.
I usually go straight to the forums and don't get the pop-ups.
